some Details and close ups

all papers are the Graphic 45 Steam punk except some actual letters and a copy of my Dad's birth certificate
Spot #1:
I cut the clock and popdotted it as high as the tray ledge, I added a Vintaj clock face, a piece of chain as the pendulum and some gems.
I cut the crown and added it to the photo, also added gems here too.

this is where I used an actual letter as the background

I added a button to a Graphic 45 small envelope, inserted a photo and added a reduced and inked copy of the birth certificate

Spot#4
I cut the bird cage and layered it on a glittered one, cut the bird(which I hid the frame on the gypsy)out of grungboard, added a Vintaj lock and key. The background paper was embossed with the Fluer de lei embossing folder.

I added some Tim Holtz gears and some gems

Spot#6
 I cut the window and the Fleur di Leis added acetate to the panes and gems; pop dotted it as high as the tray.

French Manor Contest Entry

Sooo, I told you I would be posting my French Manor Cartridge Contest entry...and I am . They announced the winners yesterday and I was not one of them. I must admit I was a little disappointed because I absolutely LOVE this project! However my disappointment was only momentary; I hung my project on the wall and fell in love with it all over again! The photos in the tray are my Dad(who is awesome by the way!) I love this tray and am glad I took the time to enter...so just keep in mind that winning is not everything, sometimes it is stretching your self an bit and stepping outside the box(or circle so to speak hehe)

Let me know what you think..I love to read your comments and I hope you love my project even a smidgen of what I do!

A Fall Page

This weeks challenge was to make a Fall page...I decided to make a small play on words..I used the tree on the Heritage cartridge and the leaves on the designer's calendar to give it a Fall look but the focus was on my photo...I really did FALL for him! Anyway....I like how popdotting the tree gives a shadow effect....I tend to pop dot alot...do you use popdots or are you a "flat scrapper"???

This weekend

so....this weekend we went on the annual Labor Day Hike and Bike on the riverfront downtown Louisville. Scott Austin and I did the hike part :) we walked the 3.1 miles across the bridge into Indiana and back. The weather could not have been better! It was a great day. What did you do for the holiday? We were challenged on the cricut circle to scrap a page of what we did. Here is the page I finished this morning to submit.

I am entering again!

I have decided that this is the year! I am going to enter as many projects as I can. I really enjoy the thrill of completing a project and submitting the project to see what happens. You can't win them, all but it sure is fun trying....go ahead enter see how it goes...what have you got to loose?? NOTHING! So I am entering a contest at work...calendar pages. We had to use the kit they supplied, they were looking for the best use of the kit. Here is one of my entries(I made 2, I will show the other one later)

So I chose November...I really like working with Fall colors, however after I started working on this page I realized it was kinda of busy and dark....I used some glimmermist on the flowers to lighten them up a bit...we will see...I will let you know how the contest goes.  I am going up against 43 other stores!

erin lee is having a contest sponsored by Oh My Crafts...so I figured why not!

It was supposed to be a Halloween entry so I decided to use my brand new cricut cartridge "Happy Hauntings" (which by the way I Love!) I cut one of the awseome frames from black vinyl. I then cut the skull layers in orange cardstock and added some orange glitter. I added this to a Ready to make fram that I had covered in purple cardstock. I added a title cut from the same cartridge in neon green and shadowed it in the same purple as the frame. I just so happened to have a quite creepy photo of my son last Halloween. Not bad for a quick last minute entry I guess.....we shall see, it was fun anyway it goes!
